On April 13, 2026 Emina Veletanlić succesfully defended her thesis titled “High-Risk High-Reward (HRHR) Science: Origins, Interpretations, and Impacts on Research Practices”. The thesis examines two major questions centered on ‘risky’ research: (1) how and why the idea of HRHR science originated in policy and how it evolved; and (2) how engaging in HRHR science changes research practices. Based on a historical analysis and in-depth interviews with researchers engaged in HRHR projects, the thesis advances a conceptual framework supporting practice and an agenda for further investigations.
Congratulations, Dr.Veletanlić!
